Traveling Without Your Pets

You’ve planned your vacation and the time is coming near.  Instead of being totally ready and excited about your vacation, you realized you haven’t planned care for your family pet.

What should you do?  You’re not going to cancel your trip, but you can’t have fun unless you know your pets are going to be well cared for.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about this because over the past few months our cat that just turned 1 has fractured/broken and cracked his leg and is on surgery #3 this week.  Since this happened at a time we were thinking of traveling to celebrate our birthday’s and for obvious reasons couldn’t, I wanted to share some ideas for what you can do with your pets when you travel.

Going to New York City, NY posted by on April 23, 2012

Travel to New York City NY

I’m going to be traveling to New York City, NY soon for a blogging conference.  My friend Lynn from Traveling Low Carb and I will also be celebrating her birthday during our stay.

We would like tips and ideas on fun things to do while in New York City. We will have very limited time and no transportation but all input is welcome so I can plan out our days in advance.

We’ll be staying very close to Times Square and Central Park so please take that into consideration when suggesting fun things to do.

Cruise Ship Travel: The Ship Mate App posted by on April 19, 2012

Our friend Ashley, who we met when we were traveling in the Virgin Islands, told us about her friend Mike, one of the creators of this awesome cruise ship travel app and I wanted to be sure to share it with you. Plus it’s supposed to be great for first time cruisers so it’s right up our alley.  Can’t wait to use it!

Do You Cruise? posted by on April 10, 2012

Have you ever been on a cruise?

Kev and I are eager to take a cruise one day.  Originally we were against it for the simple fact that Kev gets seasick however after our day cruise to St. John from St. Thomas aboard a sailboat we thought differently.

You would think he would be so sick from being on a small sailboat that was swaying to and fro and hopping over waves.  But it was actually me who had a bit of nausea during the excursion however neither one of us ever got sick.  So I don’t think we have anything to worry about when it comes to a cruise.

40 Places To Visit posted by on April 1, 2012

In honor of my 40th birthday today, here is a list of 40 future vacation destinations I want to visit.  I would love to travel all over the world! Hopefully Kev will want to visit them all with me!

We are itching to get outta dodge and travel some more but some family obligations have interrupted our planned travel schedule this year.  I am really hoping we can still make it to Jamaica for the Reggae Marathon but at this very moment, things do not look promising.  Can I cry?

Our trip to Oklahoma City was fantastic!  Kev and I are the proud new grandparents to a beautiful little baby girl, Isabella.

My stepdaughter Tiana and her hubby Nick are doing great and will make awesome parent’s.  I flew in early to help make sure everything was all set and Kev drove from Chicago for the birth.  We can’t stop smiling.

Reggae Marathon!

We have been talking about heading back to Jamaica this year to participate in the race again.  We’ll most likely do the 10k this time instead of the half marathon but who knows.

Only 11 months to go!

Will you be participating?

Coral World Ocean Park: A Place to Remember posted by on December 31, 2011

Coral World Ocean Park was one of the biggest highlights for me on our vacation to St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.  Like it says on their website, you get to “experience the beauty and magic of life under and above the Caribbean sea”.  There is so much to do at Coral World so plan to spend an entire day there.

Adventure Center: Your Source for Tours in St. Thomas posted by on December 30, 2011

THE Source for Excursions and Tours in St. Thomas & St. John

The Adventure Center is a family run business.  We had the opportunity to meet Mark (Operations Manager) and his dad, the owners, at Marriott’s grand reopening party.  That was a special treat! They really went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of on all our adventures.

New Horizons Snorkel Adventure

This was our day sail to St. John and it was awesome!  We took a taxi from our resort to a local marina in St. Thomas.  From there we took off on our adventure to Caneel Bay, St. John National Park, Honeymoon Beach and Christmas Cove.
