Dog n Suds Restaurant posted by on April 21, 2013

Dog n Suds, Fox Lake, ILToday was a quick trip to the Dog n Suds restaurant in Fox Lake/Ingleside, IL  My sister in law treated us to lunch for a belated b-day celebration for Kev.

I love the classic 50′s style drive in, it’s so much fun.  You can read about the history of Dog n Suds too.

Not only can you park and order like your classic drive in but they have a picnic area there too if you would rather get out of your car.

Kayak: Online Travel Guide posted by on April 2, 2013

Kayak mobileWhat is Kayak?

Kayak is an online travel guide/search engine where you can find deals on flights, hotels, car rentals, vacations and more.  You can sign up to get alerts when there are prices changes too.

They search tons of travel sites like Hotwire, Expedia, airlines, car rental agencies, etc. for top deals to destinations like Las Vegas, Florida and the Caribbean.  How about a vacation rental or ski trip?  They will find the best deal for you.

Like I said they are just a search engine so you do not book travel through them.  So in our case, we’ll be directed to the airline and car rental agency.  However you CAN find Trip Advisor’s rating and read reviews for hotels/resorts.  I love that option.

To Fly or Drive That Is the Question posted by on March 22, 2013

Fly or DriveTo Fly or Drive:  That is the Question

We are trying to plan our vacation to Florida and after checking out prices on flights AND a rental car, we have come to the conclusion it would probably be more cost effective to drive the 20 hours to Florida.  We will be staying with friends in Ormond Beach, FL (Ormand By the Sea, a barrier island) most of the time.  We were HOPING to also spend 2-3 days in Orlando at the end of the trip.

American Airline Service Makes Me Smile posted by on October 12, 2012

One Reason I Love American Airlines

I travel quite a bit on American Airlines and have always had good service.  A recent experience on my flight to Atlanta last week, October 3rd stands out and I wanted to share one of my best American Airline service experiences.

I had boarded flight 3844 from Chicago to Atlanta.  As I was getting ready to turn off my phone before take off, I got an email message from my dad that his brother, my uncle had passed away unexpectedly that morning.  Not something you expect right before you take off on a business trip.

Always Remember

A couple weeks ago when we were in Oklahoma, we decided to take some time out to visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.  We were close by after a long day in Bricktown and thought it was important we pay remembrance to those who lost their lives that day.

Upon arriving, the first thing we saw was the fence where people still to this day remember their loved ones by leaving tokens of their love.  There are cards, stuffed animals, pictures and more.
